A short Food Industry Mapping is currently being conducted towards mapping of actors in the Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia Food Industry, mainly the processors and exporters who are operating in different parts of the country. The survey questions takes about 30 minutes to administer by our trained enumerators who can reach out on phone or arrange a physical visit to your facility.
This survey is being conducted by Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) and the exercise is being supported by Piem Agritech and MOOD TECHNOLOGIES. The research is aimed at collecting relevant data on processing and export of these key commodities: Dairy, Potato, Cassava, Avocado, Onions, Sorghum, and Teff. The study will enable PFS to make an informed assessment of companies or traders handling these value-chains with the possibility of providing technical assistance and business support to selected companies at no cost.
Core services offered by PFS to beneficiaries:
- Product Development: new product formulation, process development, and packaging
- Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering: Process improvement, equipment sourcing, operational health and safety
- Marketing, Sales, and Market Research: Market survey, marketing strategies, marketing plans, branding and logo design
- Business strategy, Finance, and general Management: Business strategy, financial planning, human resources and accounting
- Quality and Food Safety: Food safety and quality, internal laboratory testing, and shelf-life extension.
Other support provided:
- Apprentices: PFS places recent graduates from local universities in food processing and other programs with clients for one year to increase capacity building.
- Mentorship: PFS help to link client with leaders, middle managers and apprentices to learn and grow by connecting with experienced professionals from PFS corporate partners for six to twelve months.
